The problem it solves

When you paste a caption into Instagram, empty lines between paragraphs are often removed, which squashes your text into one block. This tool fills each empty line with an invisible character, so Instagram treats it as real content and keeps the space.

How to use it

  • Write or paste your caption, leaving empty lines where you want spacing.
  • Copy the result and paste it into Instagram.
  • Check the preview in the app before you post.

Options

  • Spacer for empty lines: an invisible Braille blank (the default), an invisible Hangul filler, a dot (.) or a middle dot (·). Choose a visible dot if the invisible characters do not hold your spacing.
  • Keep leading spaces (indents): turns the spaces at the start of a line into invisible characters, so indents survive in the post.

Trailing spaces at the end of lines are removed, and the summary tells you how many empty lines were filled.

Tips

  • Use the same technique for your bio, where line breaks also tend to disappear.
  • Instagram can change how it handles spacing, so test your caption on a draft if you can.
  • Do not overuse blank lines. A few well-placed breaks read better than many.
  • To count the characters afterwards, use the Instagram Character Counter. For other invisible text, see the Invisible Character Generator.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?

Instagram trims empty lines and trailing spaces, especially when posting from some devices. Filling the empty line with an invisible character prevents this.

Which spacer should I use?

The Braille blank (U+2800) is invisible and works on most devices. A single dot is a visible but subtle alternative.

Do the invisible characters count towards the limit?

Yes. Each spacer is a character, so a caption with many blank lines uses a bit more of the 2,200-character limit.

Why does a visible dot appear in my caption?

You chose a dot or middle dot as the spacer. Switch to an invisible option if you prefer a clean look.
