How the paraphraser works
This tool rewrites text with simple, transparent rules, not artificial intelligence. It replaces wordy phrases with shorter ones, such as “in order to” with “to”, and swaps words for synonyms. It also fixes “a” and “an” after a swap. Every change is highlighted in a list under the result, so you can check each one.
Settings
- Mode: Simplify + synonyms, Simplify wordy phrases only, or Synonyms only.
- Change amount: Light, Medium or Strong sets how many of the replaceable words are changed.
- Keep these words unchanged: type words, separated by commas, that must not be touched, such as brand names, key terms or words from your keyword list.
- Paraphrase again: runs it again to get a different mix of synonyms.
Good ways to use it
- Tightening wordy sentences in drafts and emails.
- Finding alternative words when a text repeats itself.
- Getting a fresh version of your own text to review and edit.
Use it responsibly
Synonym swapping can change nuance, so always read the result and fix anything that sounds unnatural. It is not a way to disguise someone else’s work. Rewording copied text is still plagiarism and gives search engines no reason to rank it, so write original content and cite your sources.

Frequently asked questions
Can I stop certain words from changing?
Yes. List them in “Keep these words unchanged”, such as product names or technical terms. Every change is highlighted below the result so you can review it.
How does this paraphrasing tool work?
It uses a built-in dictionary of common words and wordy phrases and replaces them with alternatives. It is not an AI rewriter, so it will not restructure sentences.
Can I use it to avoid plagiarism?
No. Rewording someone else’s work without credit is still plagiarism. Always cite your sources.
Will the result be different every time?
Phrase simplification is the same each time. Synonym choices are random, so use Paraphrase again to get another version.
Does it change the meaning of my text?
It aims to keep the meaning, but some synonyms fit certain contexts better than others. Review the highlighted changes and undo any that do not fit.
